Girl Approached by Man in Mini-Van:
(Kemptville, ON.) – Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating an incident involving a 12 year old girl being approached by a suspicious male.
At approximately 8:30 am, a light colour mini van was travelling north bound on St. Lawrence Street, Merrickville (between Bruce and Lewis Street) when the driver asked the girl if she would like a ride. The girl declined and reported the incident to a classroom teacher. The Police were immediately notified. The male made no physical contact with the child and is described as white, approximately 50 to 60 years of age with grey short hair and a beard.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police are once again encouraging parents and guardians to speak to their children about the dangers of accepting rides from strangers.
Anyone with information on the above occurrence is asked to call Grenville County O.P.P. Boy Approached By Man in Mini Van
(Kemptville, ON.) – Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police are investigating an incident involving a 10 year old boy being approached by a suspicious male.
At approximately 8:50 am, a light colour mini van travelling east bound on Concession Road, Kemptville stopped west of South Branch Elementary School and asked a boy to get in the van. The boy declined and immediately reported the incident to the administration staff at the school. The Police were immediately notified. The male made no physical contact with the child and is described as white, approximately 45 years of age, grey hair, glasses and wearing a “hoodie”.
The Police conducted a patrol of the area and were unable to locate the suspect vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
